Trawinski
As a Specialty Section Advisory Group member since 2019, I've witnessed our profession navigate significant challenges including defining specialty services, eroding reimbursement, and biosimilar management, while bracing for continued pressures like attacks on the 340B program and Medicare reforms. These ongoing challenges have reinforced my core philosophy: the power of collaborative problem-solving. What energizes me about specialty pharmacy is our ability to transform complex challenges into innovative solutions when we work together. Our SAG network has tackled issues like defining specialty services, building workforce pipelines through promoting post grad training, and implementing IRA changes to minimize the negative impacts on patients and our pharmacies. I believe our greatest strength lies in the relationships we build through these efforts. I've leaned on the connections I built to solve everyday problems and develop strategic plans. My goal is to have all our members make those connections and get the same value out of our section. Throughout my SAG service, I've focused on leading initiatives where health-system specialty pharmacy leaders openly share challenges, exchange solutions, and develop best practices that benefit our entire ASHP community. If elected director-at-large, I will champion this collaborative approach by:
- Ensuring diverse voices contribute to our profession's evolution, whether from new or established specialty pharmacies
- Connecting members facing burnout and the pressure less resources
- Advocating for policies that strengthen our ability to provide exceptional patient care
I would be honored to serve and to help our section turn the challenges ahead into our next opportunity to lead.
