Carleigh A. Krueger, PharmD, BCACP (ckrueger@srhc.com), is the pharmacist-in-charge of the outpatient pharmacy (SRHC Pharmacy) at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas. In this role, she oversees the Meds to Beds Program, serves as the lead for the organization’s preferred pharmacy services for its self-insured employee health plan, and manages SRHC’s partnership with Dispensary of Hope. She works closely with inpatient clinical pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure patients are discharged with medications that are both accessible and affordable. Krueger earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Salina Regional Health Center. She is board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy. Krueger is an active member of ASHP and currently serves as chair of the Section of Community Pharmacy Practitioners advisory group on Education and Practice Excellence. She previously served as vice chair and chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committee and has presented at multiple ASHP meetings.

My philosophy of pharmacy practice is rooted in the belief that community pharmacists are among the most accessible and trusted healthcare providers. Each interaction is an opportunity to improve understanding, build trust, and positively impact a patient’s health. I am passionate about advancing community-based pharmacy practice as a vital component of improving population health and expanding access to care. In my practice, I focus on ensuring patients can access and afford the medications they need. I connect patients with available resources within the health system and community. I collaborate with providers to identify effective, affordable therapies. I strive to foster an environment where patients feel respected and empowered, and where providers are confident partnering with the pharmacy team. As a leader, I prioritize building teams focused on providing excellent patient care, while also having fun at work. I value mentorship, teaching the next generation of pharmacy professionals, embracing innovation, continuously advancing my practice. My involvement in ASHP reflects my commitment to shaping the future of pharmacy and advocating for the expanded role of pharmacists in healthcare. Ultimately, I am driven to help move community pharmacy forward. My passion for this profession fuels my desire to share it with others and invest in the future of pharmacy.
