Meet Brittany A. Tschaen
It has been a privilege to be a member of SCSS as I have seen firsthand the impact the Section plays in shaping the future of clinical pharmacy practice. SCSS brings together a diverse and influential community of clinical pharmacists whose expertise, leadership, and innovation are essential to advancing patient care and strengthening the profession. My philosophy centers on stewardship, collaboration, and empowerment. I believe clinical pharmacists must be supported not only in advancing practice but also in sustaining fulfilling careers that allow them to grow, lead, and remain deeply engaged in clinical pharmacy and patient care. The Section has an opportunity to further strengthen its role as a unifying and inspiring force—connecting members across career stages, practice settings, and areas of specialization. Collaboration is fundamental to this vision. Meaningful partnerships within SCSS, across ASHP Sections, and including new practitioners can amplify impact, spark innovation, and ensure that diverse perspectives inform the future of clinical pharmacy. By fostering strong professional networks and shared purpose, the Section can help members navigate evolving roles while remaining grounded in clinical excellence. Another core belief is the importance of advocacy. Clinical specialists carry powerful insights shaped by frontline experience. Empowering members to engage confidently in advocacy ensures those insights help influence policy that shapes the future of pharmacy and patient care. It would be an honor to contribute to the continued growth of SCSS by promoting an inclusive, forward looking vision that advances pharmacy practice for the benefit of patients and the profession.
