Meet Jerry St. James
Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the patient-first culture inherent in specialty pharmacy and the responsibility it places on health systems to deliver high-quality, outcome-driven care. My leadership philosophy is grounded in collaboration, data-informed decision making, and advancing practice while ensuring sustainability and emphasizing patient care. Within specialty pharmacy, health systems are uniquely positioned to demonstrate value through clinical outcomes, quality programs, and integrated care delivery. As payer expectations increase and access pathways such as limited distribution networks continue to evolve, pharmacies must be able to consistently measure, communicate, and leverage outcomes data to support patient access, financial stewardship, and long-term sustainability. I believe ASHP plays a critical role in helping members align around shared standards, translate data into strategic value, and collectively advocate with external stakeholders. I bring a perspective shaped by specialty pharmacy operations, accreditation and compliance experience, and leadership focused on mentorship and professional development. Investing in the future development of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is essential to sustaining innovation, advancing practice, and strengthening the profession as a whole. As a Director at Large, I am committed to advancing ASHP’s mission through principled governance, strategic investment in member value, and impact-focused advocacy that positions health-system pharmacy as an essential driver of high-quality, sustainable patient care.
