Meet Marianne K. Pop

I am deeply committed to advancing the work of the pharmacy profession through purposeful leadership, collaboration, and service within ASHP. I believe the long-term strength of our profession depends on intentional investment in individuals; cultivating adaptable, forward-thinking leaders who are equipped to address healthcare disparities, shifts in care delivery, and the expanding scope of pharmacy practice.   My leadership philosophy is grounded in engagement and follow-through. Through my roles as an emergency medicine pharmacist and faculty member, I have seen firsthand how active participation at institutional, state, and national levels can enhance access to care, strengthen professional practice, and build connected professional networks. My involvement with ASHP advisory groups, educational committees, and state affiliate leadership has reinforced the importance of creating inclusive spaces where members are heard, mentorship is prioritized, and ideas are transformed into tangible outcomes.   Education and mentorship are foundational to my approach. Working closely with students, residents, and colleagues, developing continuing education programs, and supporting inclusive learning environments have shaped my belief that leadership development should be deliberate, accessible, and equitable. Meaningful progress is achieved through partnerships that span disciplines, practice settings, and professional organizations.   I am energized by the opportunity to contribute to ASHP by proactively collaborating in policy development, supporting the advancement of innovative educational efforts, and advocating on behalf of the profession. By fostering collaboration and empowering others, we can continue to elevate our profession and better serve our patients and communities.
