Meet Megan E. Giruzzi
My philosophy as a pharmacy educator is grounded in cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and professional growth among learners and colleagues. I strive to foster environments where questioning is encouraged and uncertainty is explored. By guiding learners to provide the rationale behind therapeutic decisions, interpret primary literature, and identify knowledge gaps, I promote self-directed, lifelong learning. This approach strengthens clinical reasoning, supports evidence-based practice, and prepares learners to adapt within an evolving healthcare landscape. As a leader, I aim to extend these principles to educator development. I am committed to supporting preceptors in refining their teaching strategies, modeling reflective practice, and embracing their roles as facilitators of inquiry. I value collaboration, mentorship, and the sharing of innovative educational practices across institutions. I am honored to be considered as chair-elect of the Section of Pharmacy Educators. As chair-elect, I am committed to advancing ASHP’s shared mission to support pharmacy educators in preparing, engaging, and advancing the pharmacy workforce to optimize health. With our collective dedication and innovation, we will continue educating exceptional pharmacy professionals who are ready to lead the future of healthcare. I sincerely thank you for your time and consideration for this opportunity.
