Meet Tina M. Hamilton
My philosophy as a pharmacist is grounded in the belief that entering this profession comes with an inherent responsibility to lead and educate. Pharmacists are uniquely positioned at the intersection of clinical expertise, patient advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. With that position comes both the privilege and the duty to guide, influence, and elevate the practice of pharmacy for the benefit of patients, colleagues, and future practitioners. I view the duty of a pharmacist, as a daily commitment to demonstrate integrity, accountability, and work towards continuous improvement. Whether mentoring, supporting teams, or developing system initiatives, I strive to model the professionalism and curiosity that I hope to inspire in others. Central to my approach is the mindset captured in the familiar saying: “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” I frequently reflect on this principle, as it shapes how I teach, mentor, and collaborate. My goal is to build confidence, competence, and independence in those I support and have the privilege of working alongside. I believe in fostering environments where learning is continuous and innovation is encouraged. Pharmacy is a field that is always changing. By being curious and dedicated to excellence, we also need to look for new ways to education and lead that must be paired with ongoing attention to well being and self care for all involved in healthcare and education. Ultimately, my philosophy is rooted in service—service to patients, learners, and to the profession.
