ASHP Celebrates 80 Years of Excellence in Serving Members and Their Patients
Dear Colleagues,
ASHP will reach another key milestone over the weekend – our 80th anniversary. Thanks to the tremendous foundation built by our visionary leaders, including Gloria Francke, Joseph Oddis, Henri Manasse, and so many others, coupled with exceptional members like you, we have never been better prepared to step into the future and serve our members as we deliver the latest pharmacy practice advancements to improve patient care for all.
ASHP President Paul Walker's inaugural theme is Better Together. At 60,000 members strong, ASHP is better together as our pharmacist, student pharmacist, and pharmacy technician members treat patients across the entire spectrum of healthcare from the hospital bedside, to the clinic, into the community, and the home.
ASHP's world-class practice resources, assertive advocacy efforts, and top-quality professional development opportunities all contribute to this record-breaking membership. And these immensely valuable membership offerings would not be possible without our excellent staff team. We are better together thanks to the hard work and dedication of our employees and teams. In 2016, ASHP was recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post and in 2017 by Modern Healthcare. Six years later, we are still affirming our excellence as an organization by being named a 2022 USA Top Workplace and again a Top Workplace by the Washington Post.
ASHP is also better together as we look forward to and embrace an exciting future for the pharmacy profession – one that advances our vision that medication use will be optimal, safe, and effective for all people all of the time.
When we celebrated our 75th anniversary, we knew ASHP's future was bright, but no one could have imagined how much pharmacy and the healthcare landscape would be tested by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our members and our profession have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt how essential they are to the health of our communities across the country.

In addition, I hope to see you at the Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas from Dec. 4—8, where attendees can continue in our year-long 80th anniversary celebration.
