ASHP Interim CEO

Douglas J. Scheckelhoff serves as the interim ASHP executive vice president and CEO. He previously spent 24 years at ASHP, most recently as senior vice president of practice advancement, where he oversaw practice advancement, policy development, medication safety and quality, and the ASHP Center of Excellence program, ASHP’s international programs, and professional credentials.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Master of Science degrees and completed a combined PGY1/PGY2 residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Before joining ASHP, he held leadership roles at The Ohio State University Medical Center, the University of Kentucky Medical Center, and Children’s National Medical Center.

Scheckelhoff has been frequently cited in the national media, has testified before Congress and the Food and Drug Administration, presented internationally, and authored more than 230 publications and presentations on pharmacy practice.
