ASHP Center for Next-Generation Therapeutics
The ASHP Center for Next-Generation Therapeutics provides clinical leadership, resources, education, and practice tools to support the safe and effective use of these cutting-edge therapies. Next-generation therapeutics encompass a range of cutting-edge treatments, including cellular and gene therapies, tissue-engineered products, targeted drug delivery, personalized medicine, theranostics, rare disease therapies, and other specialty and ultra-high-cost medications.
Through the Center, members will find guidance to address the clinical, operational, safety, ethical, and financial considerations associated with these therapies. ASHP is committed to equipping pharmacists to be fully engaged in the total care of patients receiving next-generation therapies, ensuring safe and effective use across the continuum of care.
ASHP Summit on Advanced Therapeutics
At the 2025 Pharmacy Futures Conference, ASHP hosted a high-level Summit on Advanced Therapeutics, designed specifically for hospital and health system leadership and pharmacy practitioners. The Summit explored the complex challenges and emerging opportunities of integrating advanced therapeutics into pharmacy practice, with discussions spanning medication-use policy, patient access, financial impact, ethical considerations, and strategies to ensure success in this rapidly evolving field.
