Vaccine-Preventable Diseases: RSV (CE)

October 6, 2026

ABOUT THIS PODCAST

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is the most common cause of bronchiolitis, the most common lower respiratory tract infection in infants less than 12 months old. The recent availability of a maternal vaccination and a neonatal/infant immunoglobulin injection provide the chance for a dramatic change in the rates of infection. Unfortunately, an increasing vaccination hesitancy in the United States threatens the potential of these efforts. After completing this episode, learners will be able to discuss the presentation and management of an infant with RSV and review the vaccination processes to prevent transmission of RSV.
