Trista BaileyDr. Trista Bailey is an Associate Professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice – Geriatrics Division at the Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy. In addition to her teaching, she has a practice site as a consultant pharmacist for two nursing homes and an assisted living facility in Abilene, Texas. Dr. Bailey received her Bachelors of Science with Honors from Texas Tech University in 2007 and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin/The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio dual degree program in 2011. She then went on to complete an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 ambulatory care/geriatrics focused residency with the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. She is dual board certified in both Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Geriatrics (BCGP) and is a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.

Amie Taggart BlaszczykAmie Taggart Blaszczyk, PharmD, BCGP, BCPS, FASCP is Professor of Geriatric Pharmacy Practice and Division Head of Geriatrics & Pediatrics at the Texas Tech University HSC School of Pharmacy on the Dallas/Fort Worth campus. Her practice affiliation is with Advanced Healthcare Solutions, a long-term care company. Her practice and research interests include neurodegenerative diseases affecting older individuals, intergenerational education, and the impact of a clinical pharmacist working in the long-term care setting. She is also the residency director for the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacotherapy residency and is a content-matter expert, developer, and reviewer for the ASHP-ACCP BCGP Prep Course and recertification activities. She is an old soul and loves spending time with her family, singing (bad) karaoke, knitting, puzzle books, and reading.

Dana CarrollDana G. Carroll is a Clinical Professor at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy, Auburn, Alabama. She graduated from Auburn University School of Pharmacy with her BS and PharmD. She completed a residency in primary care at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. She worked at Duke Medical Center in the emergency room as a clinical pharmacist and as an Assistant Professor at University of Oklahoma before joining the faculty with Auburn.

Her current clinical practice at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL focuses on providing direct patient care as part of interdisciplinary teams in a geriatric clinic and a family medicine residency clinic. In addition, Dr. Carroll provides one on one patient education and drug therapy consults in diabetes and serves as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver ADA certified diabetes self-management classes. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and geriatrics (BCGP). She also is a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES). She teaches and precepts pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, graduate students (psychology and social work), medical students, and medical residents. She also holds adjunct faculty appointments with the College of Community Health Sciences Family, Internal and Rural Medicine Department and the Psychology Department at the University of Alabama. Dr. Carroll’s current scholarly endeavors include assessing outcomes in geriatric patients from interdisciplinary care and the scholarship of teaching and learning.


Cyrille Cornelio, PharmD, BCCP

Cyrille CornelioDr. Cyrille Cornelio is a Board-Certified Cardiology Pharmacist and an Assistant Professor at the USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy. After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy from Northeastern University in 2017, she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Her interest in cardiovascular disease management led her to complete a PGY-2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in Oklahoma City. Since then, Dr. Cornelio has practiced in academic pharmacy and outpatient cardiology for the past four years. She recently joined the University of South Florida in April 2023, and currently provides pharmacy services within USF Health Cardiology, collaborating with practitioners under the heart failure subspecialty. She is also an active member of the American Heart Association’s Clinical Pharmacology Committee. Dr. Cornelio is passionate about teaching, precepting, and improving cardiovascular outcomes, with special interests in heart failure, cardiomyopathies, transitions of care, and informatics.

Erica DominguezDr. Erica Dominguez received her PharmD from TTUHSC School of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas prior to completing a PGY2 residency in Ambulatory Care in Medford, Oregon. Dr. Dominguez previously practiced as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in primary care in Medford, Oregon and now practices in geriatrics at Jan Werner Adult Day Care Center. She enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and taking her dog on walks.

Emily EllsworthEmily Ellsworth, PharmD, BCGP, received her doctorate degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She further completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Chicago, IL. Her passion for the aging population led her to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy where she completed her PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency. Her professional interests include geriatric ambulatory care, long-term care, and academia. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) who currently works as a Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. Her current role in Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) allows her to work directly with geriatric veterans providing disease state management in their homes. She is also heavily involved with the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency program and precepts students from Midwestern University.

Carol FoxDr. Carol Fox is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Pharmacy Practice department at the University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy. Dr. Fox obtained her PharmD from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 2006 and completed a Geriatric Pharmacy Practice residency at the Durham VA Medical Center in North Carolina. Dr. Fox is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. She is currently practicing as a consultant pharmacist at an independent living center where she serves as a preceptor for advanced practice pharmacy students on their Geriatric rotation.

Emily FrederickDr. Emily Frederick received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in Winchester, Virginia and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Geisinger Medical Center in central Pennsylvania. Dr. Frederick is an associate professor and Vice Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department and has a clinical practice site with the Emergency Department Hospitalist Team at the University of Louisville Hospital. Dr. Frederick is active in local and national professional organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In her free time, Dr. Frederick enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, baking, and evaluating literature.

Lisa HutchisonLisa Hutchison is Vice Chair and Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a secondary appointment as Professor in the UAMS College of Medicine. Dr. Hutchison earned her BS Pharmacy and PharmD degrees at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of South Florida. She is dual Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and Geriatric Pharmacy.

Dr. Hutchison is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She won the Award for Achievement in the Professional Practice of Pharmacy in Organized Health Care Settings from the American Society of Healthsystem Pharmacy (1993) and the American Pharmacists Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award in Hospital and Institutional Practice (2008). She is the editor of Fundamentals of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy, 2nd edition and an annual lecturer for ASHP/ACCP’s Geriatric Pharmacy Certification Course.


Thea Moore, PharmD, BCPP

Thea MooreDr. Thea Moore is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapeutics and Clinical Research at the University of South Florida, Taneja College of Pharmacy. She is a graduate of University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and licensed as a registered pharmacist in the State of Florida. She completed a residency and fellowship in psychiatric pharmacy in Kansas City, MO and is a board certified psychiatric pharmacist (BCPP.)  

During her career as a pharmacist, Dr. Moore has published several articles, and participated in numerous research projects in the area of psychiatry. She has trained many pharmacy residents and pharmacy students and collaborated in obtaining funding for research and other clinical activities. She was faculty at Florida A&M University and most recently worked at Lakeland Regional Medical Center as a pharmacotherapy specialist prior to joining the University of South Florida. She has a joint appointment with the Morsani College of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences and collaborates with other clinicians at University Psychiatry Center to provide patient education, medication reviews, consultation and research assistance.  

Dr. Moore’s professional interests include nutritional psychiatry, complementary and alternative medicines and wellness. Dr. Moore recently received a certificate as an Integrative Pharmacy Specialist. DR. Moore also received a certificate as a Wellbeing Ambassador from ASHP. Dr. Moore is an active member of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Heather OurthHeather Ourth, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, FASHP is the Pharmacy Benefits Management Assistant Chief Consultant for Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Outcomes, Analytics, Legislation and Compensation with the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, Dr. Ourth’s work has an emphasis on program development, implementation and outcomes/impact assessments designed to evaluate the impact of clinical pharmacy services on the costs and quality of patient care. She also works to identify proven, innovative roles for pharmacists, lead clinical pharmacy health services research and quality improvement projects, author numerous publications, and apply pharmacoeconomic principles to support VA initiatives in this area.

Heather received her BS in Pharmacy from Ferris State University in 1995 and her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida in 2007. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, and a Fellow of ASHP. Dr. Ourth was a past recipient of the ASHP Board of Directors’ Award of Excellence, VA Under Secretary for Health Pharmacy Benefits Management Innovation Award, the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations’ (NASPA) Excellence in Innovation Award and the Michigan Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award. Dr. Ourth is a long-standing member of several professional associations including ASHP, ACCP, APhA, and the Iowa Pharmacy Association.


Maria Shin, PharmD, BCGP, BCPS

Maria ShinDr. Maria Shin obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University in 2008. Following graduation, Dr. Shin completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She then completed a PGY-2 Geriatrics Residency at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas. Following her residency trainings, Dr. Shin was an assistant professor for the Clinical and Administrative Sciences Department at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy (SUCOP) in Louisville, Kentucky from 2010 until 2019. She currently is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in Internal Medicine at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center (RRVAMC) in Louisville, Kentucky and an adjunct assistant professor for SUCOP. Dr. Shin’s special interests are Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, and Research. She is currently the Chair of the Pharmacy Residency Research Committee at RRVAMC.

Sarah VisintainerSarah Visintainer received her PharmD from the University of Rhode Island in 2018 and went on to pursue a PGY1 residency in Boston, MA with Northeastern University and the PACE program at Harbor Health Services. Following her PGY1 year she completed a PGY2 residency in Dallas, TX with Texas Tech School of Pharmacy and the VA. Immediately following her completion of the PGY2 year she began working at Shields Health Solutions as a clinical pharmacist beginning in July 2020 and has been the Senior Clinical Pharmacist for the Southeast region since December 2021. Throughout her career at Shields, she has obtained her BCGP, BCMTMS and CSP certifications. She values patient centered care and will continue to look for ways to improve patients’ lives as well as grow professionally in this field.
