Dear Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Section Members,
As we near the end of another exciting and productive year, it’s time to reflect on our section’s incredible work and celebrate the contributions and engagement of our members.
Over the past year, SOPIT has achieved numerous milestones that highlight the energy and expertise within our community. This work includes but is not limited to:
- Ten webinars have been completed or are scheduled before year-end, showcasing timely and relevant topics for ASHP members
- Five podcasts have been released, with several more planned, continuing to deliver practical insights from thought leaders in our field
- Five blog posts have been published, with additional content on the way to further support knowledge sharing
- Three new tools have been added to our resource center, expanding the support we offer to pharmacy informatics professionals
None of this would be possible without your dedicated efforts! Your passion and hard work drive the success of our section, so thanks again for these outstanding contributions.

Looking ahead, I’m excited for the 2025 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas! It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect (or reconnect!) with colleagues, explore cutting-edge developments in pharmacy and — of course — enjoy some fun and camaraderie along the way. I’m hopeful that many of you will be fortunate enough to be able to attend; if so, I’ll see you there! Watch out for special SOPIT events throughout the meeting.
Finally, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Hesham Mourad and Ryan Cello for their exceptional service on the section executive committee. Hesham has just completed his three-year chair term, and Ryan his three-year term as director-at-large. Their leadership, vision, and commitment have had a lasting impact on our community. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with both of them, and they’ve shared how much they’ve enjoyed working with the section during their terms. Please join me in thanking them for their service.
Thank you all for making this such a successful year. I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the months ahead.
